Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine is hiring a UV Operator to help keep underground engineering operations running smoothly. In this role, you’ll work with mechanical equipment underground, move materials safely, and support the team with operations and maintenance tasks. The focus is on safe operation of machinery and keeping things on schedule.
You’ll report to a Chargehand or supervisor and play a part in everyday engineering support underground. That includes operating the assigned machinery, checking performance, reporting any issues quickly, and helping move old tips and belt structures as needed.
Skills & Duties:
• Operate machinery safely and according to procedures.
• Monitor equipment to make sure it’s working well and report problems.
• Help transport materials and assist with belt and tip work.
• Follow safety standards and keep work areas compliant.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Minimum Grade 10 (Standard 8) certificate.
• Code 08 (EB) driver’s licence.
• Completed relevant training programme and 1 year underground engineering experience.
• Any UV operator experience (even short) is a bonus.
