Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine is looking for a Fitter Aide to support maintenance work in the plant engineering team. You’ll work with fitters and artisans to help keep equipment running, assist with repairs, and make sure tools and machines are clean and safe. This role suits someone who’s hands-on, reliable, and ready to learn in a busy mining environment.
Key Tasks:
• Help maintain and repair plant equipment, including pumps, belts, crushers, and other machinery.
• Support artisans with tasks like removing and replacing parts, greasing equipment, and basic fixes.
• Keep your work area clean and organised, follow safety steps like lock-outs, and report any defects.
• Work under supervision but be ready to take direction and get things done to standard.
Requirements:
• Grade 10 (Standard 8) or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s licence (Code 08/B).
• Some practical experience in a plant, industrial, or mining setting is a bonus.
• A willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work safely every day.
